Welcome to the WGSS International Program
Walnut Grove Secondary School has a large number of international students from many countries, including Belgium, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, People’s Republic of China, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. It is exciting that they can experience life at WGSS, and also enrich the lives of Canadian students.
The International Student Program Coordinator and two Educational Assistants provide daily support to international students during their time at school and in the community.
Many of the international students stay in Canadian homestays during their time in Langley, providing another layer of cultural experience and support.
In addition to the academic activities, athletic opportunities, and clubs available to international students at WGSS, there are a variety of district and school activities that are available throughout the year. There are bigger trips such as overnight trips to Victoria, the Rocky Mountains, and skiing at Sun Peaks. In addition, there are day trips such as the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish, kayaking at Deep Cove, Christmas lights at Van Dusen Gardens, or visiting the Capilano Suspension Bridge.
